Synopsis

It can be referred to as pebble gravel, and typically looks like the collection of small stones and rocks you would find never a riverbed. The cause behind the large collections of gravel is due to the erosion of large rocks which is aided via weathering. This gives each stone a distinct shape and size, from something which can be skimmed across a water surface, to pea shaped rocks. Pea gravel has become a popular decorative stone type and is available from companies who supply building materials, it has many uses too! For example:

  • As a surface layer on driveways
  • A weed suppressant
  • Can be placed around drainage pipes
  • Decorative borders
  • Differen coloring
